How phoenix names are built

The first element carries the light or the aromatic — helio the sun, chryso gold, orthro daybreak, kroko saffron, myrrho myrrh, kinnamo cinnamon — and the second carries the office: genes born, phoros bearer, doros gift, kles glory, krates power, phanes appearing. Heliophoros is sun bearer, Chrysogenes is gold born, and a Greek reader parses either one without stopping.
The vocabulary is cyclical rather than incendiary, which is what separates a phoenix from a dragon.
